Seven years ago, I had a dream to open a blog in hopes to inspire someone. What I was going to inspire someone to do at the time, I had no idea. But the dream wouldn’t die. Finally, I had an aha moment and my life and blog changed. And here I am, seven years later, with a goal to inspire women (and men) to design their own reality.
Now I know my brand isn’t exactly like other lifestyle brands. But the desire to inspire someone to live the life they want is something I feel compelled to do. Which is why I built a brand around my purpose.
MY TRUE WHY
I know you’re probably expecting me to go into a lengthy reason why I want you to purchase my products. Which I do want you to do. But I also want you to know the real why behind the creation of my products and why I do what I do.
So in an effort to be more open and authentic with all of you, here is the reason behind why I created the products within my shop. I also plan to give away an art poster to two lucky readers, so stay tuned…
01 | Creating a product line that encourages and inspires
I’m an experienced web/graphic designer with over 18 years of experience. So it goes without saying that I love creating things. And I love the art of storytelling through graphics. So the natural thing for me to do was to create typography art prints, with a message, to inspire women while they design their lives.
I also wrote and self-published a book that tells my rebranding story and essentially how I built this fulfilling brand. I wanted to encourage other bloggers to step out on faith and never to be afraid to build something that reflects who they are.
I’m proud of the authentic products I’ve created so far. I wanted to actually help someone and not just sell a product because everyone else is doing it. I feel I’ve done exactly what I set out to do. And I can’t wait for you to experience my labor of love.
02 | A way for me to give back to charities who need it
Throughout my life, I’ve had the pleasure of donating to charities here and there. But I’ve always wanted to do more. Like, make a sizable donation to a charity to help a number of people instead of just one. I never knew how I was going to accomplish this, but I knew one day God would guide me to figuring it out.
So when I started to create my product line, I got the idea to create T-shirts with a positive message. And 50% of the sale of each tee would go towards three charities. Check out those charities here.
I can’t even begin to convey the excitement I felt coming up with this idea. I never planned on selling T-shirts, but it’s a great way for me to support charities who need the help. And I’m proud to say my T-shirt designs will be available in April of 2018.
03 | To one day buy my mother her first home
Ever since I was little I dreamed of owning a home. I wanted a white picket fence and a lot of rooms just like my Barbie dream house. As I got older, that dream persisted and become a major goal in my life.
One day when discussing my dream with my mom, I discovered we both had the same dream. And ever since learning that, the goal of owning a home became a permanent fixture on my vision board. I want my mom to have something of her own before leaving this earth. And so do I.
My future home will also serve as a place for me to have an HQ, a home office. I want to hire other incredible people to help me move this brand forward. Right now I’m a one-woman team. But having a creative team would free up some of my time to create more inspiring products. Which means I could help more people which is such a fulfilling thought. And one I hope to accomplish.
I struggled with sharing this part of my why. Because I didn’t want anyone to think this was a way for me to get you to purchase my products. But I reminded myself to be honest so that my readers, and those who are visiting for the first time, can actually get to know me. And know why I create products and care about helping others design their own reality.
Now you know what fuels my brand, and the creation of the products within my shop. I was a bit nervous to really share why I do what I do, but I’m glad I did it with you, my readers.
Before I end this editorial, I have a giveaway. I plan on giving away one of the art posters, pictured above, to two amazing readers. To enter, all you have to do is subscribe to my brand. That’s it! Easy right?
