Organization is the key to an uncluttered mind.
I’ve read that saying a thousand times and still find it difficult to stay organized. And don’t get me started on my work desk. But I’ve found a cluttered mess doesn’t contribute to my being great and creating amazing products for my readers. So recently, I’ve made a conscious effort clean up the clutter around me. I still suffer from an unorganized desk 3 days out of the week, but I’ve learned to put things back in their rightful place.
I’ve also enlisted the help of a design feature that has been around for decades… shelves.
Shelves allow me to showcase my favorite pieces and keep things in reach without having everything scattered across my desk. Shelving also adds a different feel to a room. Now my only dilemma is styling my shelves so they look chic all the time. Interior designers make it looks so easy but I still haven’t mastered this technique. So if you find yourself needing to master shelf designing, allow this editorial to inspire you.
Adding shelves to your home is easy. You can repurpose or purchase a bookshelf and add it to a space. Or you can purchase affordable floating shelves at IKEA or any other store to give a room more dimension.
There truly is an art to dressing up shelves. But like any good design, it should always reflect your own personal style. And it’s just a bonus that it also helps declutter your life. Do you have shelves in your home? If so, how do you style them and keep them uncluttered? Let me know by commenting below. I can’t wait to hear from you guys.
